Biography

If there is one James Bond character in the world of casino poker industry, then that would be none other than David Ulliot. This outstanding poker player has the same husky British accent and frequently enters casino establishments in a dazzling tuxedo or black suit with hands adorned with gold rings, and hair smoothly slicked back. David, however, is definitely not dealing with goons and bad guys inside a casino. He is there to win poker in the table and defeat other poker gods in the international poker tournaments.

Unlike other professional and famous poker gamblers in the industry, David went through a lot of hardships and setbacks before he got himself distinguished as one of the pioneers in international casino gambling. Born on January 4, 1954 in Hull, England, David "The Devilfish" was already good at cards ever since he was just a kid. He learned the basics of card games through his parents' regular table poker games. He practiced what he learned during school lunch breaks, wherein he played against his classmates and win money over their bets.

David's first try in the local casinos happened at the early age of 16. Two years later, he tried poker and eventually got hooked with the game. David's first few years in gambling, however, was not really good. He quit school and got involved in public fighting and armed robbery.  His imprisonment became a turning point in his life. When his sentence was over, David established a pawnshop that was later turned into a jewelry business.

With a stable business smoothly running, David continued to hone his skills in casino card games, particularly in poker, by frequently playing poker in local casino establishments. After some time, David's poker plays improved and became noticeably better than other players on the table.

Moreover, David decided to join the professional poker arena when nobody wants to play with him in the local casinos anymore because of his luck and skills in winning the game. In 1990s, David's game strategies continuously got better by joining various poker events in London and in the US. His name became even more popular internationally when he defeated Danny Nguyen in the Pot-Limit Omaha Four Queens Poker Classic held in 1997. He also won a series of widely recognized international  tournaments, including the 2006 WSOP No-Limit Hold'em with a $16,673 cash prize and the 2006 WSOP Pot- Limit Omaha with a $12,295 prize money.

Aside from poker games, David also loves to play the guitar and the piano. During his free time, he spends time with his family and also allots a few hours of his day for weight training. He and his family are currently living a comfortable life in their house in Hull, England.

With an outstanding achievement in the international poker industry, David Ulliott still remains as among the most competitive poker players. His knack in reading the moves and game tactics of the other players, plus his dashing appearance at the tournaments truly make him an intimidating figure in the poker table.
