The classic casino games we play have long and fascinating histories that add to their charm, yet recently, they have been increasingly transformed into an online pastime through the proliferation of always-connected devices.
Although the move to playing these games in online casinos is undeniably a good thing, you can still imagine playing poker on the riverboats of the Mississippi or playing Baccarat in a James Bond-style casino in Monte Carlo. One thing that will remain timeless about these classic games is both the desire to win and the assertions made that there is a system to winning. Whether you’re playing poker, slots, blackjack or roulette there will be some individuals who will claim to have the winning formula and often they’ll be willing to pass on their knowledge, for a price.
There is one classic casino game going through a resurgence these days, and while it doesn’t seem to generate much dialogue about winning strategies, it is one of the oldest and best-known games there is. Bingo would be considered by most punters to be nothing more than a game of chance in which there really is nothing you can do to increase your chances of winning, but is this really true?

The Simple Way
Bingo is a game that is consistent in its prize money, as this doesn’t increase or decrease depending on the number of people playing. This means you’ll increase your chances of winning by becoming a part of a game that few people are playing. This might be easier said than done, as online casinos these days are global entertainment. Playing off-peak bingo hours in the UK might mean playing peak hours in the US, meaning it can be difficult to judge when a game will have few players. A little research might be required with regards to how many players are playing certain days or times, but there is an easier way to reduce the competition.
Simply playing multiple cards is the most obvious way to increase your chances of winning and should be considered if the pot is tempting enough. If you do choose to buy more cards, make you take advantage of the auto-daub feature, that allows you to keep track of all your chances to win and ensures you don’t miss a thing. As well as buying more cards, some operators provide players with the opportunity buy more lucrative cards, which offer a better chance of taking the treasure, while a number of sites including Fabulous Bingo also offer a range of features and welcome promotions for online bingo.

Increase Your Knowledge
Bingo has always been a very social game, and one of the great features utilized by online casinos are the chat rooms, which allow players to continue the social experience while they're trying to win. Sometimes simply being in the chat rooms can make you eligible for special prizes that are not on available to those that remain mute. Most online casinos encourage players to build a bingo community through their chat room feature and therefore reward your participation. The chat rooms can also be a source of knowledge for tips and hints on certain genres of bingo or might inform you about special promotions and reward programs that could be beneficial to you.
Most online bingo operators will have a rules of the game section you should familiarise yourself with, even if you're an old hand at this classic game. It's always important to know what you're playing for and you really don’t want to miss out on a pot because you either weren’t paying attention or made a mistake. Anything you don’t understand or are not 100% sure on can be brought up in the chat room, forum or by simply asking customer service to clarify something for you. There really is a great deal of support available from online casinos and you should employ their support to enhance your bingo wisdom.

The Systems
There are two well-known systems for increasing your chances at winning and they are worth consideration. The first of these comes from a British statistician named Tippett and is based on calculating the median when playing 75-ball bingo. His theory states that in games with many balls called, choosing bingo cards with numbers close to the median is advantageous. Conversely, in games that few balls are called, selecting cards with numbers far from the median will increase your chances of winning. To deduce if a game will have many or fewer balls called is dependent on the complexity of the winning pattern. A straightforward horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of five is simple and therefore should require fewer balls to be called. Meanwhile, more complex patterns found in other variations of bingo will require more balls to be called before a winner emerges.
The next system comes to us from an American financial writer and speaker named Granville, who states that when playing a 75-ball bingo game there is a 1/75 chance for each ball being pulled. Consequently, we can assert that the number of balls that end with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. each have an identical chance of being drawn at the commencement of the game. Also, there are an equal number of odd and even balls and high and low balls and the likelihood for each of these numbers being drawn is the same. Granville’s system asserts that 60% of the first ten numbers drawn will contain different last digits. This means that, for example, if a number 9 is drawn, consequently, there will be fewer balls ending in 9 lingering in the game and therefore less probability of a 9 being drawn next. Making this theory work for you means selecting a bingo card with as many differences in the last digit as possible, meaning a bingo card featuring 19, 29, 39, 49, 59, etc. should be avoided. Instead, you should look to select a card with as many variations of the final digit as possible such as 12, 23, 34, 45, etc. in order to increase your chances of winning.
Bingo doesn’t have the same multitude of tactics and systems designed to increase your chances of winning as other classic casino games, yet there are some subtle systems and tips outlined that might give you an edge to take a pot or two more than normal.
