Omaha is basically a poker variation where players deal with four cards that are face down. These face-down cards are often called as hole cards since the players are the only ones who can see them. Aside from the four hole cards, Omaha Hold'em players must also deal with the community cards or those that are available for any player's use. The players of Omaha hold'em use two of their hole cards and another two or three from the available community cards to produce a hand. An Omaha hold'em game is divided into four stages of betting, with each betting starting clockwise from the left position around the poker table.

Low Limit Omaha is a popular variation of this community card game wherein the players can only bet with low amounts on each betting round. Quite similar to a high-low Omaha game, there is a pre-determined betting limit in a low-limit game, so the players can only raise up to a particular amount during a game. For instance, if the player is playing at a $2-4 low limit game, his raise or bet is limited to $2 in the pre-flop or the first betting and another $2 after the second betting round or the flop. With a low limit Omaha game, depending upon the small blind and big blind made by the players, players bets should not exceed the big blind.

Why People Play Low Limit Omaha Hold'em?
Firstly, low limit Omaha hold'em allows players with small amounts of cash in hand to play at a poker table without the fear of losing big to the expert players or the sharks. Most players who gamble at a low limit Omaha table are considered newbies in the poker game since they are still learning the ropes of the said community card game and they want to start with the basics.  Some people find low raise or bets appealing since they only gamble, and perhaps lose, a small amount of money, unlike in no limit and pot limit Omaha games. As for newbies, the excitement of playing at a low limit Omaha table is high since they have opponents who have no or little knowledge at Omaha poker.

Why Some Players Don't Play Low Limit Omaha Hold'em?
The poker sharks or those who are already tested by the poker table fire consider low limit Omaha hold'em as a game for fishes or those players who often lose in a poker game. Since the fishes no longer have a huge amount of money to enter a pot limit or no limit game, but they still want to gamble, they end up playing at a low limit Omaha table.  Moreover, there are few traffic at low limit Omaha tables since most poker players are playing at no limit and pot limit Omaha tables where bets can go as huge as hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

On the other hand, some poker enthusiasts don't gamble at low limit Omaha hold'em tables because they find it difficult to win huge cash in such tourneys. The game might be easy and the other players are not hard to defeat since most of them are new to the game or as mentioned, fishes. However, since most of the bets made cannot exceed the big blind, say $4, profits from these tables are hard to earn. For a player to bring home huge cash at a low limit Omaha game, he must then play at such tournament for a couple of hours.

Although low limit Omaha game does not provide big amounts of prize money like the pot limit variety, many poker players are still interested with it, since they get to flex their poker muscles and beat other players who have equal poker knowledge as them.
