40 billion That’s how many hands online poker site PokerStars has dealt in the roughly eight years it has been operating. To put that number into perspective, it was just last February the site reached the 25 billion-hand mark.
Since getting to 39,600,000,000 hands last Wednesday PokerStars had been giving out cash prizes to everyone dealt into each millionth hand … with those fortunate enough to be a part of the uber-milestone 40 billionth hand getting AT LEAST $400 in free money just for being at the (virtual) table.
The site ended up giving out several hundred thousand dollars in prizes, which goes to show how much money they’re actually earning in order to just dole out such awards.
A $2/$4 No Limit Hold’em table on PokerStars dealt the site’s monumental 40 billionth hand. Coming out on top in the historic moment was PokerStars member Senecady, who walked away with $24,000.
Poker Stars happily accepts players from the United States and around the world.
