How to avoid overplaying in online Texas Hold'em cash games

Overplaying is really not a serious mistake but if you do this at every game you play, you might be losing most of your winnings. Overplayers usually lose their perspective in the process; they tend to forget the ultimate goal, which is to win the most amount of money. If you think you're guilty of constantly overplaying, it's time to take a deep breath and slow down.

When playing online poker, you don't have to play at every table or game. Try to get up from your computer chair and step back from the PC. Review your goals for that day or week and you'll notice that the stress of dealing with too many hands, tables, and pots is slowly removed. Start avoiding marginal games and better wait for games or tables that offer you with advantages.

Many online poker players have the tendency to overplay. To avoid being compelled to join the bandwagon, learn when to play aggressive poker. There are instances wherein you just have to wait the players out or fold when your hand isn't really that strong. By learning when to wait and fold, you'll actually beat your opponents for more money. Remember, don't be afraid to fold if you think your cards won't stand a chance. Folding isn't a sign of being afraid to fight it out. Learning when to fold is actually a useful skill many overplayers should learn in order to improve their game. Plus, folding at the right time is also a sign of self-control, another important skill you should learn to avoid overplaying.
