The true test of a real poker player is measured on his ability to maintain the winning position all throughout the poker match, and there are only a number of poker champions that showcase skill, mastery, and patience. One of them is Lee Watkinson.

The name Lee Watkinson may be relatively new to the poker scene. However, Watkinson has been playing in poker tournaments way back in 1994. He joined the 1994 $500 Limit Hold'em tournament of the LA Poker Classic. But after that said tournament, Watkinson has not been active in poker matches until he came back to poker playing in 2003. Moreover, Watkinson showed impressive poker moves when he played in two major World Poker Tour tournaments. He won both as the second place winner in a $10,000 No-Limit Hold 'em Championship match in the WPT Mirage Poker Showdown and a $5,000 No-Limit Hold 'em match in the Los Angeles WPT Legends of Poker. In the Los Angeles match, Watkinson played against Doyle Brunson. Watkinson, the poker legend, won a large amount of $578,000 that night. The year 2004 was very meaningful to Watkinson as he was recognized as a very competent poker player. Hailed as the 2004 Player of the Year by Card Player magazine, Watkinson truly deserves the title as he took the world by surprise with his marvelous playing talent.

Watkinson started playing poker during his high school days and because of his experience, he can be rightfully hailed as a poker player whose talent has been honed by time. However, the year 2006 spotlighted Watkinson when he won as the top winner for a $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. The players were over 200 in number yet Watkinson was able to maneuver with an artful poker play. He earned over $650,000 and the poker gold bracelet. Part of his cash winnings went to a chimpanzee sanctuary project. Moreover, Watkinson planned to have a celebration with some chimpanzees and his girlfriend over ice cream and cake. When not playing in poker tables, Watkinson is surfing the ocean waves and spending quality time with his partner. The spotlight may have taken long to shine on Watkinson, but the world knows that he is a mighty champion deserving all the fame he receives.
