Biography

Award-winning Hollywood actress and a driven poker player -- these words best describe Mimi Rogers. She is one of the many Hollywood celebrities who got hooked in playing poker and made good money of it. Born on January 27, 1956 in Coral Gables, Florida, Rogers is the daughter of a Holocaust-survivor father and a Christan mother. As a kid, Rogers was an excellent student having skipped grades several times and graduated from high school at 14. Unlike other high school students with an intelligence like her and an academic record to die for, Rogers did not bother to exert effort in looking for the best university. She opted not to attend college. Instead, Rogers volunteered for different charity groups where she spent most of her teen years. Also, she went with her dad -- an adept and sharp card player -- on his trips to Tahoe. It was here that she learned card playing -- even playing as a minor in blackjack and poker games.

A mother of two, and a long-time girlfriend of producer Chris Ciaffa, Rogers was first married to Jim Rogers in 1977. He introduced her to the Church of Scientology but faith did not proved to be a binding factor and the couple divorced in 1980. Rogers then married fellow actor Tom Cruise in 1987 and introduced him to Scientology. Rogers's marriage to Cruise lasted for only three years and the couple separated in 1990.

In her acting career, Rogers first considered it as a hobby, but soon pursued acting as a serious profession. She got a leap forward through the movie "Someone to Watch Over Me" in 1987 where she played the role of Claire Gregory, a socialite who witnessed a murder. From then on she has been known for her roles in mostly independent films including the 1991 controversial psychological/religious movie "The Rapture." She also made several Hollywood films such as "Lost in Space" in 1998, "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" in 1997, and the "Geena Davis Show".

Aside from her acting talent and card skills, Rogers also possessed another asset. Her voluptuous body, with 38D-26-36 vital stats, led her to several nude roles. The most unforgettable was her performance in "Full Body Massage" in 1995 where she appeared entirely nude for the whole 93 minutes running time of the film. Another remarkable performance was in "The Door in the Floor" where she had a nude scene at age 48. Rogers also did nude interview and layout for Playboy magazine in 1993. At present, she is included on Fox's new sitcom, The Loop.

Having an extensive experience in poker when she was a teenager, Rogers has been playing competitive poker since 2003. She joined the World Poker Tour's 240 player Shooting Stars in San Jose, California- her first major tournament- and finished in the money in the No-Limit Texas Hold'em event on March 2004. Rogers is also one of World Poker Tour's board of directors.

It was in July of 2006 that she finished, again, in the money at the $1000 Ladies' No-Limit Hold'em event of the World Series Of Poker (WSOP). She pocketed $5,132 for being the 33rd placer.
